A very comfortble, warm and well equipped cottage. A kind and genourous host. Lots of individual shops and lovely bread. Plenty of varied walks in the area. Lots of places to visit, and on top of that we saw the annual Sheringham Viking Festival. So what's there not to like? We certainly hope to return. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very well equipped property, comfortable beds and very quiet. Welcome pack went above and beyond and was a lovely thought especially if you had travelled far. The property was very warm and a lovely cosy feel especially as it was cold and wet outside. The technology, Internet and TV excellent. As we are a regular visitors to Sheringham we still find a walk along the promenade different every time. The Thai restaurant in Cromer is authentic and a cheap train ride with a short walk into town via a pub is always good for any age.

What a fabulous find, we put a pin in the map followed up on the internet and hey presto a week at Mabel Cottage in Sheringham. Paul is a great host and has a wealth of knowledge, a week is not long enough to do it all! Picking the highlights we have spent time walking round this pretty town, taken the heritage train to Holt, watched the tide come in at Wells and much more. The welcome pack is a lovely idea and the cottage has everything you need, a true home from home.

Accommodation could not be better, everything needed is provided, excellent welcome pack & personal welcome. Advice/help/information readily available. We enjoyed a Norfolk Broads boat tour from Wroxham, the National Trust's Blickling Hall, coastal walks, a visit to Norwich, a seal trip from Morston Quay. The list of things to see & do here is endless.

Lovely comfortable cottage a true home away from home. The owners have gone to great lengths and have spared no effort or money to make sure their guests’ stay is comfortable. They have thought of everything from smart tvs to the most equipped kitchen I’ve ever seen in a holiday let, comfortable beds, memory foam mattresses, etc etc etc ..... everything was fabulous! Highly recommended. For food, I recommend The Wheatsheaf Pub and restaurant in West Beckham a couple of miles up from Sheringham, offering homemade delicious pub grub at reasonable prices. As for outings, North Norfolk is full of great places to visit, and great walks, my favourite is Sheringham Park.

Everything you need. Very spacious and comfortable cottage. Welcoming us on arrival with a lovely welcome pack tailored for our needs. Stream trains 5 mins away well worth a visit. The theatre had a fantastic show recommended again five mins away. 2 mins walk to the beach and shops such a perfect quiet location. Fish and chip shop two mins away on Co operative street good value. Felbrig Hall National Trust 10 mins drive. Lovely walks look at the map on the wall in the dining room. Paul directed us to many lovely walks from the cottage. Priory Maze is walkable and lovely gardens. Unrestricted free parking available on The Avenue where the cottage is based but you may have to park a short walk from cottage, not a problem and always spaces on The Avenue.

Lovely - I just wanted peace and quiet and easy access to the promenade for evening walks and the sound of the sea. I did find all of that and much more besides. The rooms are all of a good size so that five people would not find the house crowded; and, in the warm spell we enjoyed, Mabel Cottage was cool and airy. Most cafes/restaurants are reasonably priced but for a special treat we found The Bank Restaurant in Sheringham provided great variety and had a welcome choice of vegetarian dishes. Everyone must have fish and chips at least once and of course a crab sandwich (or two...or three!).
The Murphy Family, Aylesbury
A nice cosy homely feel to Mabel Cottage. We have been coming to Mabel Cottage for a few years and have always been made very welcome. Visit Sheringham's heritage railway station if you like watching steam trains. Some nice pubs all serving good food. Nice beach on a sunny day. Nice selection of little shops.

Our second stay at Mabel Cottage and another comfortable week in this lovely cottage in the heart of Sheringham. Thank you. We enjoyed travelling on the steam train to Holt, and there are some lovely walks along the coastal path. If you like cycling, there is bike hire at the end of the road at Black's Bikes.

The welcome pack was excellent. The house was lovely and warm and had everything you could possibly need. The Funky Mackerel Café on the seafront does excellent flapjacks.

Comfortable cottage, just a few minutes walk to seafront, friendly welcome, plenty of room inside and space outside to sit and the children to play. We liked the Great food at the Windham Arms, the Poppy Line steam railway and the lovely beach.
Law Family, Northamptonshire
Great cottage, all you'll need for a relaxing holiday. The welcome pack was very useful. If visiting in late May, make sure you plan a visit to Sheringham Park to see the Rhododendrons. The Norfolk Wildlife bird sanctuary at nearby Cley is worth a visit.
Holdsworth Family Wrexham
A really comfortable homely cottage and only a short stroll to the town centre and/or the beach. The cottage was very well-equipped - certainly one of the best we've been in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the friendly welcome on our arrival and the goodies in the welcome pack. A trip to Holt on the Poppy Line is a must, even if you're not a steam enthusiast - the views from the train are stunning. Bicycle hire from Black Bikes shop is literally at the bottom of the road and they were excellent: just £12 for a day's hire.

What a fantastic week – weather wise! Brilliant sunshine with a brisk chilly wind, ideal for walking (check the books in the drawer). If you’re into birding – check out Penny’s Hot Birding and Life blog for updated information. If you like a beer, The Windham is by far the best pub!

Thank you Paul for such a warm welcome and for the complimentary items you provided. The wine went down a treat and the chocolate biscuit for our babies went very quickly.
